Prayers of the Righteous

So, we might ask, who are ‘the righteous’? Christianity has almost entirely lost sight of such a definition because we have, over the centuries, fallen down into the trap of measuring everything by the world’s standards and not necessarily by God’s.

We think ‘righteous’ means law abiding and morally upright. Try this question instead…… should we not be striving to be more in tune with God? It’s this tuning that contributes to our being righteous. You see…..

All righteous prayers, (the only prayers that God can answer positively), come from heaven in the first place. So tuning is all important. Should I rather say — tuning is everything.

Suggestion; praying for something because we are asked to do it may, or may not, be adopted by heaven. We all know this to be true but we don’t know why. After all, the Jesus of the gospels was both reliable and consistent and, says the Bible, God doesn’t change. The historical doesn’t match up with the present at all.

So, instead, sit tight and wait for God to ask you for your prayers and, in them, exactly what to pray for. That’s righteous tuning. That means your prayers are more righteous. That means God finds it a lot easier to work with them!
