Being Chosen

Acts 10:41 (NIV)
[Jesus] was not seen by all the people, but by witnesses whom God had already chosen–by us who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead.

Being chosen by God more often than not results in a strange sense of wearing a crown of joy and a cross of sadness, usually ebbing and flowing together. Such sensations are then often pushed away by feelings of being unworthy to sense them at all.

But please remember this — God doesn’t choose any of us for our own ease and comfort and personal pleasure but for a role that absorbs all our minds and hearts and hands. God chooses us in order to use us. Working in partnership with the living God, through Jesus Christ, brings with it a knowledge of great privilege. What will the New Year bring?
