A Life Union

1 John 1:3 (NIV)
We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

It is when we practise this living union (fellowship) with Christ that we are justified through faith.

Then, when we begin to get there we will, hopefully all of us, be living in the Body of Christ with him as its head. This will be the church in its best and truest and purest sense.

Organised religion, including that of Christianity, is fading away as we watch. Here’s the exciting hope – that the future church, rebuilt by Christ, will focus and centre on Jesus and not on itself or its traditions, on its way of doing ‘things’ or on measuring its own success.

The real church of the future will not be a particular type of organisation, not a belief system and not noticed for any particular rituals or ceremonies. The church will exist where there is a life-union with God through Christ.
